Raiding Policies

Attention all <Brothers of Night> and <Shadow Strikers> guildies,

<Brothers of Night> and <Shadow Strikers> are a combination of great players and similar guild styles and goals. With that said, what are our guild styles? Both guilds are considered casual. We do not require all guildies to be hardcore, geared, or to even raid. We are all friends and mostly adults who enjoy playing in addition to our families and various careers.
While still remaining casual guilds, we have a hardcore group of raiders that are dedicated to progressing through end-game content.
This casual style does lend itself to problems which impact the raids. In order to help minimize our problems, we are outlining our full raiding policies.

We want people in our guild that want to be here and that are proud to be here. We have a limited number of raiding spots which will go to the people that have the best interests of the guild in mind and enjoy to raid with SS/BoN.
The officers would like to encourage communication and please express any concerns or suggestions that you have with an officer(s).

Committing or signing up for a raid means you agree to ALL of the following:

WotLK Raiding
There will be two 25 man weekly raids. The groups will be lead by Kaligaran and Skydreamer.
There will also be open signup raid(s) weekly. Please check the calendar regularly.
SSBoN guildies are running 10 man raids throughout the week. Please make sure you are involved with all inter-guild communications to get involved.

Signups
For WotLK, not all 25-man groups will have a schedule posted for any signups. To minimize the learning curve of bringing new people in day-by-day, some groups will have their raid members set and will only make changes as needed.
Please check the calendar regularly.

Raiding Priority and Roster
NOTICE: Signing up for a raid does NOT guarantee raid placement. We also reserve the right to manipulate who is on the list at officer discretion.

The roster list is generated based on many factors. Those being, seniority, reliability, availably, class/spec, guild rank, consistency and length as an active raider.

No shows and schedule conflicts
No show is considered to be anyone who is not at a raid at the given raid time regardless of if offline or online.
This will include those who are not on by raid start time. The no-shows will be strictly enforced and tracked by the officers.
If you commit to any raid (10 or 25 man), you need to be on-time at location and be able to stay the ENTIRE raid.
Adequate notice is required for all changes in attendance for a raid that you have committed to attending prior to the raid beginning.

Raiding Etiquette
It's imperative that everyone takes the time to improve their gear and stats. Both guilds having an average of 20+ people on every evening, starting groups and finding people to craft things should not be a problem.

As we will be pushing for progression in WotLK, all raiders are required to be considerate of their fellow raid members.
This includes: not making the raid wait by being at the raid location on time, proper pve spec, enchants/gems, consumables (flasks, food, pots), add-ons, knowledge of the night's bosses, promptness after a wipe, attentiveness, etc.
Everyone makes mistakes. However, making the same mistakes over and over will not be tolerated.
Excessive problems with any of these above will be handled by the officers/raid lead as needed or replaced if necessary.

Remember that the vast majority of us are adults with careers, families, etc. We all schedule for our in-game events. It's expected that all people keep this in mind to ensure that you are prompt and prepared.

Raiding Class Spec/Stats Requirements
Performance will be measured by WWS in addition to competence.
All stats must be within or above the expected range for the given class/spec. Hit rating must be at hit cap.

You MUST be pve spec. End of story. Please see the class discussion threads for some useful info.

Raid Add-ons
Deadly Boss Mods OR Big Wigs
Omen
Ventrilo
Custom mods for bosses may be required but would be posted on the schedule as needed.

Lootage

25 man dkp will be used.

New raiders: a minimum of 5 raids or 30 earned dkp is required to 'out-bid' a senior raider for a given item.

Inactive raiders: Raiders who have not attended a raid for 30 days will be placed on 'inactive' status, and will not be able to outbid an active raider for main spec loot until they have attended 5 raids or accrued 30 DKP within a 30 day span. Exceptions may be made by the raid lead, as always.

Loot Costs: 25 dkp for the first purchase in a given item slot, and 5 dkp thereafter regardless of whether it is main or off spec. So if a helm is received, it is 25dkp. Every helm received after that is 5dkp. This applies on a per person basis and not a per toon basis (for those which are asked to bring in alts).
These loot costs will be reset when a new tier is released (ie. all slots will again be 25dkp for the first item received for the given slot).
This loot cost will be retroactively applied to all loot received since WotLK release.

Loot Priority: Main spec/class first. Main toon over alts UNLESS requested by the raid lead to bring an alt in.
Gear type is used for priority looting (for example, rogues and druids have priority on leather, shamans and hunters have priority on mail). The only exception to be made to this is for 'best in slot' items. Those items must be included in the list HERE prior to the raid. If there is a best in slot item that is not in the list, please post on the Best In Slot thread with the item and proof that it is best in slot and we will update the thread accordingly.
This 'Best In Slot' item priority does not apply to weapons.
There are weapons that are clearly better for some classes which will have first pick (for example, a bow is better for a hunter than a rogue, the hunter would have priority). Raid lead has final say when it comes to loot issues.

Ulduar - Legendary Loot Shards:
Those in the raid who desire a shard may roll on the shard if they are within the top 30% of dkp earned. If there is no interest from the top 30%, we will then take the person with the next highest dkp earned that would like to receive a shard.
The shards costs 3 dkp each. Once a raider has received a shard, all subsequent shards that drop will automatically be looted to that person (at a 3dkp per shard charge) until they have enough shards to make the item.

Double DKP: Double DKP for first kills will be eliminated with the release of patch 3.1 due to running two raid groups.

10 man raids: We will roll on gear for 10 man raids.
Since we are not using dkp for 10 man raids, it will be important that everyone be courteous to their fellow raiders. Put the group's best interest above your own greediness.
See HERE for more information

SS/BoN community
We have built a great community between the two guilds. Please make sure that you are involved in all of the communication channels between the guilds and check with the partner guild as needed for anything from groups to gems and beyond.

Common Courtesy
Be courteous of your fellow players in the game. Remember the golden rule that your mom should have taught you.
This courtesy extends into every aspect of the game.

Note that all of the policies are subject to change at any time without notice. The officers and raid leads have final say while in the raids.
Any exceptions to these policies will be listed on the schedule for the given raid.
